So for years I have been trying to lose my body fat. I have never really been able to get anywhere with this goal, even when I was super fit, playing loads of sport and running PB's I still have body fat that, and little muscle definition.
At the moment, I am probably as fit as I've ever been in the last 5 years. I have lost about 10kg of weight during the past year, and am doing exercise 4-5 times a week, excluding my push up routine (which I do while I wait for my coffee to brew, so I do it every time I have coffee at home). However, while the weight I've lost is obvious, and I have received many comments, that's really not enough, its not weight I want to lose, but body fat. I have done a bunch of stuff over the years, but mainly focusing on eating healthily (I sort of achieve this) and doing more exercise (this fluctuates). And with this approach has come fairly standard results. I lose weight here, and pick up there, but never really do anything to the real enemy, which is the all elusive body fat monster.
Recently I have been looking at my life, and realised I have been applying the same formula and trying to get different results, the definition (according to Einstein I think) of insanity. So I have decided to do something diffferent. So I am embarking on an extreme diet, and fitness regime, which I hope will bring better results than what I have tried so far. I'm going to give it a month to see if I can do it, and if it does indeed have any effect on me, so here goes. Also I have decided to blog my progress, as I am told that this creates an element of accountability, and I need all the accountability I can get. This is possibly going to be one of the biggest challenges of my life, but as they say "with great risk comes the possibility of great reward."
So here begins my first step into the vast unknown of personal experimentation with dieting and tweaking my body.
Oh, and on a side note, I am pretty freaked out by drugs and everything, so I am going to be staying away from so called fat loss drugs. I might start to ascribe to supplementation, but not screwing with my body via chemicals!
